Q: Describe your photographic style.

My work is known for its emotional honesty. I'm quietly observant and shoot each wedding in an organic way, not interfering with the action or requiring my clients to leave their event for hours to take hundreds of posed photos. I emphasize everything equally well from the details and the portraits to the scheduled or random and exciting happenings of the day, and capture it all in a highly skilled manner. I use my time and yours well and enable you to joyously relive your entire day as you go through your photos later. It's really important to me that you enjoy the festivities of your event and not feel as if you are constantly performing for a photographer. Weddings are highly personal, and my work reflects the differences from wedding to wedding. My work is classic and timeless, softly romantic, in-the-moment and has a sense of humor and playfulness. 

Q: How many photos will we get?

A: Generally, an 8 hour wedding receives 1200-1500 photos. They are all beautifully edited, one at a time. 

Q: Do you take posed family photos?

A: Yes I do. This documentation of your family is very important. I do make the 'formal portrait' part of the day move quickly, and efficiently.

Q: Do you shoot film or digital?

A: I shoot digital, but am happy to shoot film for you for an additional fee. Inquire with the studio. I got my start shooting in film and agree that film has a special feel that can't be duplicated digitally. That said, it's really about the capture, and not the medium, at least to me : )

Q: How long after my wedding will it take for us to see the photos? 

A: Generally three to five weeks for the online gallery with filesharing.

Q: Is your pricing negotiable?

A: Well, it never hurts to ask. I shoot a limited number of weddings a year and am in high demand, so I don't want to get your hopes up. I am more amenable to negotiating if your wedding is not on a Saturday or if your wedding is in the deep Winter or very early Spring. 

Q: Do you recommend we 'unplug' our wedding?

A: That's up to you. Everyone brings a camera now, and some folks do forget their camera etiquette. Generally I'm able to shoot around them (and they are really just trying to get a great shot for you and themselves, they aren't trying to mess me up or your pro photos). If someone is a nuisance at a wedding (which has happened a couple of times over the years) I'll let them know, very graciously, how to stay out of my way. That said, an unplugged ceremony is never a bad idea, because shots of you walking up the aisle while your friends and family gaze adoringly at you are much lovelier than shots where everyone's face is hidden behind a camera phone.

Q: I'm interested in seeing whole weddings, do you have any to share? 

My blog has many wedding overviews for you to check out, but since this is a new site and I'm still in the process of loading weddings on the blog you might want to see more. To see  weddings in their entirety get in touch, and after we speak, either on the phone or in person I am happy to share entire wedding galleries with you, all with more than 1000 images for you to go through. Entire weddings are too large to load on a website, and slow the site down too much.  It is very important for you to see whole weddings before you make a decision on wedding photography. 

Q: I am interested in booking, will you hold my date? 

A: Unfortunately  I cannot hold dates .If you are serious about booking and inform me of that I will pencil you in for five days as I await a signed contract and retainer. I cannot hold dates any longer without the retainer and contract. 

Q: What is the fee to retain your services? 

A: The fee is one half of the chosen coverage amount, with the final half due one month before your wedding.
